Fresh 48 & Newborn Session Information
fresh 48 - how it works
I am so glad you are considering a Fresh 48 Session to celebrate the birth of your precious child! I bet you’re wondering, how does this even work? Let me put your mind at ease! You simply give me your due date and I check my calendar. If I do not have any prior engagements/vacations on or around your due date, we book you! Let me cover some important points before you decide this session is for you:
I write your due date on my calendar and expect the baby 1-2 weeks before or after.
If the due date changes, I need to know as soon as possible.
I rely on you to communicate with me as much as possible ( when you’re headed to the hospital/admitted to the hospital, for example).
I will not head to the hospital until you’ve specifically communicated with me to come.
I shoot between the hours of 9:30 and 2:30 because the quality of your images relies heavily on natural light.
If I am sick, I will not be able to come. Hospitals are strict about that. We can apply your deposit toward a newborn session at your home instead if I cannot find a backup photographer.
You CAN change your mind. If you had a hard delivery or complication, and the thought of me sticking a camera in your face is the last thing you want, we can forward the balance paid already to a lifestyle session at a later date.
As always, you can contact me at anytime with any questions or concerns! You will be given my direct phone number.
newborn lifestyle session
Much like the Fresh 48 Session, communication is key. I will write your due date down in my calendar so I can ready myself for your upcoming session. Births are SO unpredictable, but with the in-home newborn session, we have some flexibility.
I prefer to shoot the session within 14 days of the birth.
Once you get home and settled, we can get a date scheduled. And again, I rely on you to communicate with me.
We will book a time frame in the AM when baby as at his/her best.
I do not pose the baby or use props during the session. If you have an idea outside of my shooting style, please discuss with me in advance.
We will be working in your home near windows and in the baby’s nursery if available. Having these areas ready in advance to be photographed helps a great deal.
Sessions last about 2 hours on average. It really depends on the baby. I don’t really time the sessions so there is no pressure.
You can text me directly with any questions and concerns.
